Bradley Cooper visits Boston Marathon bombing survivor

Actor joined New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman in spending time with survivor Jeff Bauman Jr.

Bauman, 27, became one of the more well-known faces of the Monday terror attack after an AP photo captured him being whisked away in a wheelchair from the scene with emergency responder Carlos Arredondo dramatically assisting him. Incredibly, despite being groggy from surgery to remove his legs, one of the first things Bauman did was assist officers with a description of the bombing suspects.

LIP: You use that Mandela speech on all the applications?
MANDY: No.. mix it up a little bit. A couple of dead Presidents and some guy called Gandi.
LIP: Ghandi?I don’t get why you’d want me to go to MIT. Boston’s pretty far away.
MANDY: I thought maybe you’d take me with you. But..
LIP: But what?
MANDY: No one’s ever been as good to me as you have. You’re better than this neighbourhood. You’re better than anyone I’ve ever met, and you deserve to get out. Even if you don’t take me with you, which I never really thought you would anyway.
